Description
Jan Peter Lesschen is an expert on climate change mitigation and soil carbon sequestration in agriculture. He is working as senior researcher at Wageningen Environmental Research. He has an MSc in soil science and a PhD on land degradation. A key characteristic of his work is integrating knowledge and data from soil science, greenhouse gas emissions, land use and agriculture for projects on monitoring and policy support. He is coordinator of the recently started Soil Mission project CAFAMORE and WP leader in the MARVIC and ClieNFarms projects. Furthermore, he is supporting DG CLIMA and the Expert Group on carbon removals on the development of carbon farming certification methodologies.
