Description
Eric CESCHIA is a INRAE Research Director at the Center for Spatial Studies of the BIOsphere (CESBIO) in Toulouse, France. His work consists in comparing different strategies for climate change mitigation in agriculture (mainly cropland) in order to prioritize them. For this, he analyses the biogeochemical (soil C storage, GHG emissions) and the biogeophysical (e.g. albedo effect) contributions to the net radiative forcing associated to changes in agricultural management. He currently develops approaches combining remote sensing data assimilaion in crop model and in-siu data in order to map cropland production, CO2/water fluxes and soil organic carbon stock changes at high resolution, but over large areas, based on Sentinel satellite data. He has published more than 70 papers in peer review journals and has more than 4700 citations (H index = 37)
