Kazem ZAMANIAN

Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany

Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Earth System Sciences, Section Soil Science

Description

Kazem Zamanian is a soil scientist who specializes in the dynamics of soil inorganic carbon, including carbonate minerals and dissolved CO₂ species, in relation to land use and climate change. His research focuses on the cycling of carbon and nitrogen in the unsaturated zone (i.e. from the Earth's surface to the groundwater surface), the influence of humans on soil formation and the mechanisms of pedogenic carbonate formation and their implications for paleoenvironmental reconstruction. He holds a PhD from the University of Göttingen and is actively involved in scientific publishing and professional societies.
